Priorities and Issues
One County. One Community. One Future.
One County. One Community. One Future.
Growth must work for the people already here.
Early spending on the Micron project has pushed Onondaga County's sales tax revenue well above projections, and as a result, our region needs thousands of new homes every year to keep pace. New development should fit our neighborhoods, account for traffic, and should be priced for not only first time home buyers, but for seniors who want to stay in their community. You deserve to be heard before decisions are made.
Invest in the basics.
Roads, water lines, parks, and public safety are what we rely on daily. Infrastructure and public safety form the foundation bedrock of any community. These essentials are what keep us healthy, connected, and safe. Our county has some residents, particularly in the Town of Onondaga, that have not had safe, potable drinking water supply or sufficient municipal fire protection for years. I will champion clean water initiatives for the community and partner with the town to advocate and navigate funding so that there is a safe and reliable source of water.
Protect the safety net in our community without punishing taxpayers.
Onondaga County has one of the highest number of residents living in poverty in the state. We need to fund gaps for support services not only for our community members, but for the employees of Onondaga County that serve them. We need to continue to implement solutions that protect the services our neighbors rely on.
